How to get to Bukovel: by train, bus, car and transfer
A trip to Bukovel does not begin with the first walk around the resort, but with choosing a route. You can go by train, bus, your own car or order a transfer. The best option depends on the city of departure, the amount of luggage, the composition of the company and whether you plan to use the car already at the resort.
In this article, we will tell you how to get to Bukovel in different ways, which train station to choose, and how to organize your transportation after arrival.
Where is Bukovel located?
The resort is located in the village of Polyanytsia, Ivano-Frankivsk region. An important nuance for those traveling by car: there are two settlements with a similar name in the region. Therefore, before leaving, you need to check not only the name in the navigator, but also the final point of the route.
From Ivano-Frankivsk to Bukovel — about 110 km. The route runs through Nadvirna, Yaremche, Mykulychyn and Tatariv. The nearest railway station — Tatariv-Bukovel, located about 15 km from the resort.

How to get to Bukovel by train
For traveling without your own car, the train is often the most convenient option. You can relax on the way and then take a shuttle or taxi upon arrival.
Through the Tatariv-Bukovel station
Tatariv-Bukovel is the closest railway station to the resort. This is a convenient option if the train you need has a stop there: the last part of the route will be shorter than from Ivano-Frankivsk.
You can get to the resort from the station by:
- by official transfer Tatariv — Bukovel;
- by private transfer, booked in advance;
- Taxi.
The train and transfer schedule may change, so it is worth checking it immediately before purchasing tickets.
Through Ivano-Frankivsk
Ivano-Frankivsk is convenient with a large number of railway connections and further road options. From the station to Bukovel you can go by bus, minibus, taxi or individual transfer.
This route may be more practical if:
- the required train does not stop in Tatariv;
- you are coming with a large company;
- you have a lot of luggage or ski equipment;
- You want the transport to wait at a specific time.
Through Yaremche or Vorokhta
Some trains stop in Yaremche or Vorokhta. From there you can also order a transfer or taxi to Bukovel. This option is worth considering not only for the distance, but primarily for the convenience of the schedule: sometimes a comfortable arrival time is more important than a few extra kilometers of travel.
How to get to Bukovel by bus
Buses and minibuses run to the resort and Polyanytsia from Ivano-Frankivsk and other cities in the region. Some of the flights go directly to Bukovel, some go via Yaremche or Tatariv.
Before buying a ticket, check:
- exact final stop;
- Is it necessary to do a transplant?
- restrictions on large luggage;
- arrival time;
- distance from the stop to the hotel.
If the direct flight is not convenient in terms of time, you can get to Yaremche or Tatariv, and from there take a taxi or transfer. For families with children and companies, such a combined route is sometimes more convenient than a long wait for a direct bus.

Individual transfer: when is it most convenient?
A transfer is more expensive than public transport, but eliminates transfers, waiting, and finding a car upon arrival. The driver meets guests at an agreed location and takes them directly to the hotel.
The transfer is especially convenient:
- families with young children;
- guests with suitcases or equipment;
- companies that can split the cost of the trip;
- upon early or late arrival;
- when the check-in or check-out time does not coincide with the public transport schedule.
If you choose an individual transfer, it is better to arrange with the carrier in advance, informing the date, time of arrival, number of passengers and amount of luggage.
